Julie Hennrikus asks Roxanna Myhrum "What is Puppetry?" in this latest "Live from the Library". 

Roxanna "Roxie" Myhrum is the Artistic Director of Puppet Showplace Theatre (Brookline, MA) and a stage director of opera, theatre, and puppetry. In Boston, she has been a puppetry coach and director for numerous regional and university theatres including the Huntington Theatre Company, the Lyric Stage Company, Gloucester Stage, Company One, Underground Railway Theatre, Wheelock Family Theatre, New Repertory Theatre, Boston College, and Suffolk University. She has been a collaborating director on three full-length puppet shows including Brad Shur's The Magic Soup and Other Stories, a pick for the 2013 National Puppet Festival (r)Evolution. Myhrum was a part of the Eugene O'Neill National Puppetry Conference's resident company for over a decade and had the privilege to work with dozens of puppetry artists from across the country on the development of innovative puppetry performances. Myhrum is a native of Springfield, MA and an honors graduate of Harvard University.

Jeremy Johnson interviews Costume Designer Molly Trainer in this "Live from the Library: One on One" coversation.

Molly Trainer (USA 829) is a Boston-based freelance costume designer for theater and media. She also creates commissioned works and provides consulting services for individuals and organizations.

In 1999 Ms. Trainer undertook a major career change to devote herself full-time to costume design, following several years designing costumes as an avocation while working in the medical industry as a specialized clinical technician, educator and Product Manager. Since then she has she has earned awards and nominations for her work, designed shows, including more than a dozen premiers and been an exhibitor for The World Stage Design Expo.

Ms Trainer has a special interest in mentoring young designers, and has been speaker, adjudicator, instructor and workshop leader for various theater organizations, colleges, and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

Ms Trainer earned her BS at Northeastern University, studied photography at the University of the South and design in Boston at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and The School of Fashion Design.
